We replace windows and sliding glass doors in Fort Myers homes, from the older streets near McGregor Boulevard to newer neighborhoods off Daniels Parkway. A standard impact window here costs about the same as in Cape Coral, roughly $1,000 to $1,900 installed. The one thing that changes is the permit office: some Fort Myers addresses are inside city limits, and many are in unincorporated Lee County.

These prices are estimates. Your written quote, priced opening by opening after the free measure, is the figure that counts.

Which permit your Fort Myers home needs

A Fort Myers mailing address does not always mean the City of Fort Myers. Plenty of homes with that address sit in unincorporated Lee County, which runs its own permitting. We check the parcel before we file, so the application goes to the right office the first time. Homes in the city's historic districts may need design review as well, and we raise that at the measure if it applies.

Older homes, careful measuring

Fort Myers has some of the oldest housing stock in Lee County. Wood-frame bungalows and early block homes rarely have perfectly square openings, and their windows were often sized before standard replacement sizes existed. That makes the measure matter even more. We record every opening individually and have each window built to it.

In older homes we also look closely at what surrounds the window. Wood sills and bucks can hide soft spots, and plaster returns can crack when an old frame comes out. Anything we find gets priced before the work goes further.

Riverfront and condo windows

Along the river, wind exposure and the size of the glass both go up. Riverfront condos also bring association rules on frame color and approval of the product before installation. We can provide the product approvals and specifications an association usually asks for, and we work to whatever schedule the building sets.

Neighborhoods we work in

McGregor and the Edison Park area, Whiskey Creek, Iona, the River District, Gateway and the streets off Colonial Boulevard and Six Mile Cypress. Coming from the Cape, we cross on the Midpoint Bridge or the Cape Coral Bridge, so most Fort Myers addresses are a short drive from our other work.

What we fit in Fort Myers homes

Single-hung, sliders, casements, awnings and picture windows, all with impact glass, plus two, three and four-panel sliding glass doors. On west-facing walls we suggest a lower-SHGC glass; the energy-efficient windows page explains why. Full prices are on the window replacement cost page.
